At Rooted Pelvic Physiotherapy, our mission is simple….
Hi, I’m Dr. Sydney—founder of Rooted Pelvic Physiotherapy.
I started Rooted as a passion project. I was treating prenatal and postpartum clients in the clinic setting, and I realized that they were not getting more than 80% better. This had nothing to do with my expertise or clinical skills, but everything to do with their lifestyles.
Pregnant patients deserve birth prep that is not only focused on their unique body, but incorporates their partner to better understand how they can act as a support role during one of the most vulnerable moments of life. Postpartum moms deserve to heal from childbirth in the comfort of home with their babies at arms reach.
Most importantly, clients are deserving of my time and expertise. With a one on one, in home visit model, my patients receive quality, hands on care from a doctor with advanced training and experience with pregnancy and postpartum. This is my commitment to you.
“Dr. Sydney is one of the most caring, thoughtful, and wonderful providers you will ever meet. I will be forever grateful that our paths crossed!”
-E.P.

Hi, I’m Mellisa, OTR/L—a clinical expert at Rooted Pelvic Physiotherapy.
I’m an occupational therapist specializing in pelvic health, supporting people through pregnancy and the postpartum period. I’ve worked with new parents both immediately after birth in the hospital and in outpatient settings, which gives me a deep appreciation for how vulnerable—and powerful—this season of life can be.
My approach blends nervous system regulation, visceral manipulation, myofascial release, and gentle stretching and strengthening to support comfort, healing, and reconnection with your body. As an OT, I also look beyond symptoms to consider your home environment and the whole family system. When possible, I love involving partners or family members so healing feels supported, shared, and sustainable.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outside, cooking, rollerblading, or spending time with my cats and the people I love. I aim to offer care that feels grounding, collaborative, and calm—especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed and just need a little extra support.
“Melissa is incredible. After a complicated and unplanned C section her support really helped me get back on my feet and feeling stronger in my core and pelvic floor.”
